Beauty is but a vain and doubtful good;
A shining gloss that vadeth suddenly;
A flower that dies when first it gins to bud;
A brittle glass that's broken presently:
A doubtful good, a gloss, a glass, a flower,
Lost, vaded, broken, dead within an hour.
— Shakespeare, The Passionate Pilgrim
Fractures is Tim Benjamin’s debut album of electronic music. The general theme of the album is the inevitable decay and delapidation of all man-made things, particularly that of industrial machinery, and the contrast between their useful life and the much longer existence as physical objects. The music seeks to portray the craggy beauty and romance within these once-useful but long-forgotten servants, these witnesses to an ever-changing civilisation.
Fractures is available to stream on Apple Music, Spotify and other such services, and available to purchase for download at iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp, and all other good digital download sites. A Limited Edition in physical media is available to buy at live performances and at Bandcamp.
